The Fear Of Planning Ahead for Marketers

Everything is planned! — Akshay Kumar

Quote from movie: Ajnabee

I love planning ahead for things whether its for daily life or work.

While speaking with most marketers especially the newcomers I don’t know why they’re scarred to plan ahead.

And guess what? I learned that there really is such a thing called as the fear of planning known as ‘Teleophobia’.

You remember when you are asked ‘where do you see yourself in five years? ‘ in an interview

I used to think a lot around this, but anyhow what I planned 10yrs eventually worked it out

- get a steady DM job
- growth and expand areas of expertise in DM
- be at a managerial position
- start freelancing
- migrate to an agency
- scale to a seven figure agency

Trust me It wasn’t easy and doesn’t go always as planned.

With all the to-do-list and productivity apps and controlled daily routine doesn't always go our way.

Don’t Be Discouraged!

Sometimes it’s easier to go with the flow and just get things done.

But here’s the thing — In order to succeed we need a plan, and that starts with having goals.

Then to turn those goals into reality, we have to list out the necessary tasks.

Next to complete those tasks, we need to have a schedule prepared and add it to a calendar, and preferably on a specific week or day!

Again don’t be discouraged, if you see things get hurdles on your planned schedule

What matters the most is how you deal with those disruptions?

Think about all the scientists, inventors, and explorers who made progress one day only to have their plans disrupted the next.

The key is — the drawbacks didn’t stop them!

Don’t let the Fear of Planning stop you.

Failure to meet your goals is okay.

Use them to Fuel you!

Look for the Small Wins.
